Food Pantry Restock Assistant-unload food deliveries, weigh product when necessary, organize pantry items in stock room and pantry room, organize fresh and frozen food items. Properly breakdown cardboard and garbage and put in receptacles Waiting room check-in- Set up laptop and utilize spreadsheet to organize customer information. Check customers in and direct them through the process. Organize resource information and share with customers as applicable. Sanitize children’s toys and chairs and vacuum room when necessary. Waiting Room Ministry Arrive 90 minutes before pantry opens, make coffee, refresh tea and coffee supplies. Welcome customers, interact and offer resources, be available to pray with them (when requested) and follow guidelines around prayer within YCAP/Oregon Food bank contracts. Ensure knowledgeable of community resources available and HOTH programs to be able to provide referral and assistance when necessary.
Personal Shopper Organize fresh produce, bread and customer boxes. Weigh food donations and assist with restock before pantry opens. Provide customers with 1:1 assistance through the pantry and introduce to freezer room attendant. Ensure hallways and pantry are left clean and orderly before leaving.
Freezer Room Attendant Review freezer inventory and prepare for days shift, organize fresh desert items, introduce to customers, offer fresh and frozen items based on family size, offer desert and toilet paper when available and introduce to carry out assistant. Clean up room, take out recycling and update freezer temperature logs.
Carryout Assistant Introduce yourself to customer, pull the food cart out to the loading area or personal vehicle and load food items into vehicle. YCAP Order Assistant- Meet at YCAP in personal truck and/or COTH vehicle and trailer. Assist in picking up pallets of this week’s order. Drive back to HOTH and assist with unloading and organize inventory.
