How we operate:
- We take in unwanted items from the community- clean & not trash preferred :) Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, (evening and weekends by appointment) lower level of building 2
- We sort through those items and determined if they are beneficial to our recipients of service. If they are, they go upstairs and are made available to the community at NO charge during the food pantry’s operating hours (Tuesday 10am to 1pm & Thursday 5pm to 8pm)
- If the sorted items don’t have a specific benefit or need for our recipients and they have value, they are sold. Either online through the SwedeMom Center of Giving system (Ebay and other online merchants) or sold locally through various websites. The funds generated from the sales support vocational training programs for the program volunteers and staff learning the tools and utilizing a brand new skill set to run the business.
